Authorities Seize $18 Million Worth Of Fake Louboutins!
It's a crime of fashion even worse than wearing a white bra under a white T-shirt: The U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized a shipment of more than 20,000 pairs of fake Christian Louboutin shoes !
"U.S. Customs and Border Protection confiscated 20,457 pairs of counterfeit Christian Louboutin shoes at the Los Angeles/Long Beach seaport. According to the CBP, the knock-off shoes that were transported in five different shipments on a cargo ship in large boxes from China had a domestic value of more than $57,000, meaning it cost just less than $3 per pair to make them. Officials said there were enough of those red soles to add up to a suggested retail value of $18 million, an unbelievable profit."
So, what tipped authorities off that the stems were phonies? "The original [Christian Louboutin] shoe is made in Italy,” said chief CBP officer Guillermina Escobar. “Once we saw it was coming in from China, we knew there was a problem with the shipment.” The fakes are also pretty awful, if you ask us--check out the photo above, where they're clearly labeled "made in China" of "all man made materials." Thankfully, all 20,000+ pairs will be destroyed, likely by burning.

top 5 nailpolish this summer and fall 2012
You're standing in front of that daunting wall of nailpolish colors and you don't know what to pick. As you mull over the choices you say to yourself "Oh that's such a fall color, but it's still August. Not going to work." Or "I'm soooo over those summer-y colors. Let's go dark!" Well quit it, I say! Why should your nail polish choices depend on what season it is?
Here are my top picks for colors that work for both summer and fall...
1. Hot pink: Who doesn't love hot pink? It's super vibrant against sun-kissed skin and can wake you up on those dreary fall days.
2. Any neutral: Would you rather a more discrete nail color? Well a sandy color is the perfect choice!
3. Neons: Talk about looking on the bright side! Neon hues are having their biggest moment since Duran Duran topped the charts<3.
4. Royal blue: Rock it with white and red for a patriotic twist and then a complementary fall color like mustard yellow
5. Glittery gold: It reads "mermaid goddess" as you emerge from the pool and "rock star" when the temps drop and you're wearing you're trusty leather jacket.
So what say you, ladies? Which nail polish colors do you wear year round? Leave your favorite brand and color name in the comments!

fashion tips and tricks
Important Basics
In Your WardrobeUnderwearKnickersJewellery and accessoriesShoes
- Recognise your assets and choose clothes which flatter this part of your body
- Either show off your boobs or your bum, never both in one outfit.
- Only wear shiny fabrics and bright colours on areas that you are sure can stand up to being in the limelight.
- If you have love handles or a round tummy, wear textured fabrics and wrap-around tops.
- Don't wear clinging clothes, but clothes that skim the body and show off shape. No matter what size you are, there is always shape there.Your wrist or your neck...whatever ever it is, show it off.
- If you have a short or wide neck, wear tops that are open at the neck, rather than high or round ones, to lengthen and slim your neck.
- Wear trousers that are on the larger side rather than too tight; trousers that appear to strain at the seams will make you look fat.
- Don't wear lots of eye make-up and lots of lipstick. You want to show off one and let the other fade into the background. The same applies to breasts and legs. Show off one or the other, not both.
- No woman over the age of 35 should wear skirts above the knee.
- Never wear leather trousers unless you are a biker. They have connotations and, however cold it is, you still sweat in the crotch. You'll look like a gunslinger with a wet pubic area. And they hardly ever flatter anyone's bum.
- Go through your wardrobe and ask yourself "What have I not worn for the past two years?" Then throw them away.
- Play with your clothes. Remember when you were eight in the dressing-up box and you would rearrange your wardrobe by colour? New outfits will begin to appear that you wouldn't have considered putting together before.
- Neon and fluorescent colours should only be worn by people with olive-skin.
- Only wear shiny fabrics and bright colours on areas that you are sure can stand up to being in the limelight.
- Choose to wear the colours you gravitate towards when you are feeling a bit down. Those are the colours that generally lift your face, unless you are depressive and you just wear black.
- Always wear colour with colour. If your main colour is plum, then you can wear red, pink, or orange with it. They all look wonderful and you will look taller, skinnier and far more stylish. Combining black with bright colours makes the black look boring and the colours look cheap.
- If you have sallow skin, dark circles or bags, don't wear black near your face, it only draws attention to it.
- If you're petite or of larger build, avoid a dramatic contrast between top and bottom as this will cut you in half.
- Always wear a bra that fits you properly; a good bra will lift the boobs and give definition to the waist.
- Always make sure your bra and knickers are lighter or the same colour as the clothes you're wearing.
- It is fine to show off your bra straps under spaghetti strapped tops and dresses, as long as the bra is pretty.
- Avoid thin back straps unless you are totally fatless or you will end up with unsightly back bulges under your clothes.
- Flat-chested women, whose nipples show when they are wearing tops without a bra, should put plasters over their nipples or put foundation on them.
- Wear 'chicken fillets' to fill out a top if you have small boobs. Small breasts look good in bras with 'chicken fillet padding' and a draw-string front.
- If you have big breasts - it's essential to wear a bra that fits you properly; a good bra will lift the boobs and give definition to the waist.
- Balcony bras look great on girls with large chests.
- Look at the VPL (Visible Panty Line). Ban all knickers that show through your trousers.
- Wear flesh-coloured underwear under white clothes or any outfit that is vaguely see-through.
- If a skirt is see-through, but not figure-hugging, opt for big, flesh-coloured knickers rather than a G-string.
- If you have bad cellulite on your bum, avoid G-strings at all costs if you are wearing thin fabrics.
- If you've got a large chest and are embarrassed to show off too much flesh in a v-necked top, wear a large necklace to cover the area.
- Never wear a scarf or necklace over the top of a roll-neck jumper.
- Don't wear long pendants that nestle in your cleavage if you have big boobs.
- If you have a double chin or your face is chubby, opt for longer earrings.
- If you have a short neck, avoid large, choker-style necklaces.
- If you have thick ankles don't wear delicate, strappy heels; ankle straps which cut across the ankle or ballerina-style shoes.
- Trousers and jeans should fall to the bottom of the heel.
- Don't wear black shoes with light-coloured clothing unless the sandals are extremely dainty.
- Black shoes shouldn't be worn with brightly-coloured clothes as they cheapen the colours. Black shoes look best with darker colours.
- Avoid thin, teetering heels if you have skinny legs – the heels will look like they're going to snap under the weight of your body, which appear heavier than your legs.
- If you are pear-shaped, avoid dainty kitten heels.

How to buy high heels you can actually walk in!
I'm a kitten heel fan myself, but I have to admit, higher heels are sexy and fun to wear every now and then. They're also trendy, and pretty much all you'll see in shoe departments this coming fall season. So the other day, when I hit a blow-out, 70-percent-off, shoe sale in a local department store, I couldn't resist trying on a few cute pairs of three-to-four inches (anything over three inches can cause back and other problems, so these are not for everyday wear!).
When I asked the shoe salesman for the mates to those I pulled off the rack, he gave me some great tips that helped me make some surprisingly comfy choices:
Take a hike. He encouraged me to walk around the shoe department—but not just on the cushy carpeting. He told me to go to the harder marble floor surrounding the shoe area because that would be a truer test of the shoe's comfort. For every pair I tried on, I hiked off the rug and all around the hard surface floor. It made a huge difference in how the shoe felt on my foot.
Skip the stilettos. He steered me away from the thin-heeled stiletto pumps I had clutched in my hand, and encouraged me to try on some heels with chunkier heels and wedges, which offer more stability. Again, he was right. I wobbled around the floor in the skinny-heeled pumps, but found those with thicker heels to be more fluid and "floatier" to walk in.
Wiggle your toes. One key to good fit for any shoe is having enough room in the toe box. He told me that if I couldn't wiggle my toes, to put the shoes back on the rack.
Save the heels. Living in New York City, I do a lot of walking, which is hard on high heels. The pair I bought came with heel replacements. You can also buy these little plastic heel savers online and do it yourself, or have your shoemaker put them on for you.
Cut them down. Too high a heel can be trimmed down to a more comfortable height by a good shoemaker. You can’t turn a four-incher into a kitten heel, but a pro can trim off about a half inch to make a heel slightly shorter.
Make them comfier. If your new shoes feel a little snug once you get them home, my helpful shoe salesman suggested this DIY shoe stretcher: Dampen—don't soak—some athletic socks, pull them on, then put on your new shoes and spend a few hours in them watching TV or reading a book. Take them off, let them dry out, and the shoe should widen a bit. If still not comfy enough, repeat the same steps another night.
